Internet Marketer? Blogger? Reporter? What?!

Blogs are certainly changing and morphing into more than just little niche sites built for the sole purpose of promoting that new clickbank product launch everyone was raving about 10 seconds ago.

Although there is still plenty of opportunity to make money online, with blogs like ViperChill,Copyblogger,Problogger,Friday Traffic Report and many others of that caliber going above and beyond the call of duty to bring quality content to their readers, little posts like: “12 Ways To Build A List Using A Paperclip and a Cork Screw just don’t cut it anymore.

That’s not to say that a valuable list of resources and tips are not useful, but humans being the fickle and habitual creatures they are want more opinionated content thanks to social media.

To me this just means that in order to truly capture the interest of a particular market and develop a strong following, you now almost definitely have to become a better blogger, reporter and all around better writer.

Fortunately with blogs like the ones mentioned above you can get an idea as to how to do this without losing track of what the purpose of your blog is.

While I like to source for content from a variety of sites in and out of the internet marketing space, the purpose of this blog is not to become the next Tech Crunch or Mashable and to be quite honest with you to even make an attempt to become like them would take away from the focus of what NonStopMarketer is about which is internet marketing.

However it’s become more important to inject your personal views and opinions in regards to the news happening in your industry if you truly want to connect with your audience.

One thing I’ve noticed for sure and I’m sure you have to and that is… you don’t see too many ‘make money online blogs’ anymore.

It seems as though the proliferation of these sites that at one point seemed to flood the internet marketing space have fizzled out due to what has become a more jaded audience thanks to the cycle of scams and crappy products that were getting launched every three seconds on clickbank and the millions of feeder sites that were created simply to get backlinks without offering any real value.

Then of course you have your ‘honest reviews’ which left a lot to be desired on the ‘honest’ part and scantily clad on the review end as well.

Yeah, it’s true, you can’t buy every product on the market and review it, but doggone it, buy it and get a refund if you have to, if you’re going to give an honest review then buy it and give an honest and objective review.

What’s more important… the commission or the following? Which one will pay more handsomely in the long run?

I’d rather forego the commission and build trust with my readers than burn them for a one shot deal that most likely will result in a refund anyway.

As I’ve learned from Jim Cockrum the author of Silent Sales Machines, the chances of creating a ‘real’ business online are slim to none if you don’t have an audience and this is what separates the big time bloggers from your typical ‘make money online’ marketers.
